There are many types and format of influenza, but the H3N2 is the subtype of the ‘influenza A’ group for the human. H3N2 viruses can infect humans and other animals. In pigs or birds or humans, this virus has mutated into many strains that are very deadly if left untreated. According to World Health Organization (WHO), the subtypes are divided according to of many things like- Geographical origin, Host of origin (swine or human or bird), Strain number, Year of isolation. Every year, influenza will cause serious illness during the flu season for animals and humans.
H3N2 is causing more illness and deaths from 2003 to 2013 rather than another type of influenza virus (H1N1).

Diagnosis:
if it’s a seasonal occurrence, and you are suspecting that he or she may suffer from H3N2 flu, then Rapid Influenza Diagnostic Test will be required to be sure of that. It includes physical exam and also the symptoms are also considered. The RIDTs will determine, whether you are having an influenza or not very quickly and also able to determine the subtype perfectly.
Treatment:
when your doctor is sure, that you are suffering from H3N2 Influenza, your doctor may prescribe you some antiviral medication like Relenza or Tamiflu. The medicine will help to shorten the possibility of the farther spread of your symptoms and give you a relief during the illness period. But it is recommended that- you should administer the medicine within the first 48 hours for maximum effectiveness. You have to take rest during your illness and should consume lots of water or fluids thus the body can become operational and recover from it. In about 7 to 14 days, you will be recovered from it.
